Parent/Guardian Memo

Technology Room Updates
We have purchased 4 computers and updated four others. This gives us a total of 19 computers. We will be getting one more, which will bring us to 20 computers. This week we will also be adding four more electrical lines to accommodate the increased number of computers.

Website Under Construction
I am pleased to say one of our parents, Mr. Tafur of www.tafurmultimedia.com, has volunteered to assist us with our website. He is in the process of revising our site. We expect to have the site fully functional within the next week or two. Please stop by and take a peek, www.stbrigidsschool.info

Volunteering for Class Trips
All volunteers assisting with any school function are required to have a background check, a signed " Code of Conduct " form, and Virtus Training certificate on file. If you would like to volunteer, please contact the office. It is not difficult or time consuming.

No Tax on Fundraiser
There is a question on the fall gifts catalogue fundraising form asking if we pay tax. The answer is no tax. Just ignore that question.

Free and Reduced Lunch Applications
If you are eligible for free or reduced lunch, please take the time to complete the form. Not only will your child get lunch, the school becomes eligible for some federal funds. All information provided is confidential. Forms are available in the office.

Uniforms Required for Picture Day
School picture day is scheduled for Tuesday, October 6th. Because they are school pictures, students are to wear their school uniforms. If they have gym that day, they are to bring their gym uniform with them. Students will be given time to change.

Keeping the Lines of Communication Open
It is extremely important that you share your questions, suggestions, and concerns with your child's teachers. Feedback from the home is encouraged. This becomes another tool teachers can use.

Flea Market / Garage Sale a Great Success
We would like to thank everyone who supported this event. From all accounts, it was a great success. We had many items to sell and many buyers. We raised nearly $3,500. A special thanks goes to our PTA and committee members: Mrs. Cecchetto, Mrs. Fahr, Mrs. McHarg, Mrs. Rushford, Mrs. Drzewiecki, and Ms. Gerg.

Word of the Month - PRAYERFULNESS
We started the word of the month last school year. The purpose was to focus on one of our core values and to give some special attention during that month. Throughout the month we look for examples of the word of the month through students' and adults' actions and deeds. September's word of the month is Prayerfulness.

Student Illness Policy
This is a reminder that if your child has a fever, pink eye, strep throat, vomiting, and diarrhea, he/she needs to be symptom free for 24 hours, without medication, before he/she returns to school. For example, if your child develops one of these conditions in school at 11am, he/she must be symptom free without medication for 24 hours, which means your child cannot return to school before 11am the next day.

Using School Planners
Students in grades 1-8 have planners that they are to use for school assignments. Sometimes teachers will write notes to parents in the planner. parents can also communicate with teachers in the same way. The planners contain a great deal of information about what's going on in school. It is very important that parents check planners on a daily basis.
